Job Description 

Wirepas is looking for a talented Application Engineer to join our Customer Success team in France. You will join a dynamic, multicultural and fast-growing team of 13 people focused on making things happening with our customer globally. 

Your primary responsibility is to develop our Smart Metering Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) reference software sitting on top of our market proven Mesh technology. It includes embedded software running on RF microcontrollers, gateway software, test suite, and cloud APIs. This AMI reference primarily serve the massive India Smart Metering initiative where Wirepas partners have already deployed more than 1 Million Smart Meters.

Responsibilities 

• Participate to the development of the Wirepas AMI reference
  • Network Interface Card (NIC) software development primarily in C language and on constrained microcontroller
  • Gateway components enhancement in C / Python on embedded Linux
• Integrate and test Smart meters from our partners in India.
• Package the deliverable by providing examples and documentation to our customers
• Provide level 2 support to both our L1 support team based in India as well as to our customers.
• Take ownership to resolve customer issues with quality and reactivity.

This position requires constant communication with both our support team in India as well as occasional international travel. 

About you 

You might be the person we are looking for if you have an Engineering Degree in Computer Science / Engineering.

Soft skills:

• Combine autonomy and team player: you are a self-starter who can easily work in a remote environment, relying on an effective time-management and a strong sense of accountability. You also like working with teams of diverse talent and functions, from Sales to R&D and testing.  
• Deep sense of customer service: problem solving attitude to understand, fix and improve our customer systems. 
• Strong communication skills: whether with colleagues or customers, communication is key!

Technical skills:

• Embedded software engineer with the following skills
• 
  
  • ARM Cortex-M processor knowledge 
  • C, Python languages
  • Embedded Linux
• Proven system expertise of an IOT system from sensor to cloud.

You get extra points for:

• Smart metering solution development.
• Overall experience with wireless communication either based on RF Mesh or cellular.
• Experience in customer support
